When a patient needs a dental restoration, Dr. Borys Averbukh will use CEREC® in Sarasota, Florida. CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, allows our dentist to place dental restorations, including dental inlays and onlays, dental crowns, and dental veneers, in just one dental visit. Traditionally, dental restorations are constructed in a dental lab, which takes about two to three weeks. Because of this, patients have to have at least two dental appointments and a temporary restoration is placed to protect their tooth. With CEREC, the entire process of having a dental restoration placed is completed in one dental appointment. This means greater convenience to the patient and no temporary restoration is needed.

To place a dental restoration using CEREC technology, our dentist will take digital impressions of your teeth using a scanner. With CEREC technology, impressions are no longer messy or a hassle. Our dentist will then use CEREC software to design your dental restoration. The software looks at the 3D impressions and proposes excellent dental restoration designs. A milling or grinding machine is then used to construct the dental restoration in only minutes.
